THE PATTERN

Why six o’clock
keeps winning

It is rarely a decision. It is a cue, a habit loop, and a body that has learned exactly what comes next. Naming the shape of it is the first thing that makes it moveable.

The morning promise

The promise you make at nine

Not tonight. You mean it completely. Mornings are when the decision feels easy, because the cue is twelve hours away and your body is not asking for anything yet.

The hour it starts

The hour it starts asking

Late afternoon, something shifts. It is not a craving yet, more a leaning. Most people never notice this part, which is exactly why the evening feels like it arrived out of nowhere.

The pour

The pour you did not choose

By the time the glass is in your hand, no decision was ever made. That is the moment worth changing, and it is a much smaller target than quitting.

Kudzu root
THE ROOT

Kudzu, and what
the research actually says

Kudzu (Pueraria lobata) is a climbing vine used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries, including specifically for people who drank heavily. The active compounds are isoflavones: puerarin, daidzin and daidzein.

It has been tested in small human trials in which heavy drinkers were given standardized kudzu extract and then observed in a natural drinking setting. Those studies reported fewer drinks per session and slower drinking. They were small and short, and they measured behaviour rather than long-term outcomes. We would rather tell you the size of that evidence than imply something larger.

THE RITUAL

Three things that decide whether it works

01

Six capsules, once a day

With a full glass of water, most people in the morning. You do not take it at the moment you want a drink, and doubling up on a hard evening does not make it work harder.

02

Every day, not just drinking days

The point is the steady level rather than the single dose. Skipping the quiet days is the most common way people conclude it did nothing.

03

Pair it with one small change

Move the bottle out of the kitchen. Put something else in the six o’clock slot. People who change one thing alongside it do far better than people who take it and wait.

The Small Shifts guide
does the other half

A capsule cannot move a bottle out of a kitchen. The guide is the practical part: how to map your own cues, what to put in the six o’clock slot instead, and a two-week tracker that shows you what you actually drank rather than what you remember drinking.

  • Cue mapping worksheet for your own evenings
  • A fourteen-day honest-count tracker
  • What to do on the evenings it does not work

Which pack
actually makes sense

One bottle is 20 days, and 20 days is shorter than the window in which most people notice anything. Running out at day 20 is the single most common reason someone never finds out whether this works for them.

QUESTIONS

The things people ask
before they buy

If yours is not here, write to us and a person will answer it.

Contact us ↗
Will this make me stop wanting a drink?+

No, and be careful with anything that says it will. The change people describe is one of timing rather than desire. The urge still arrives. It becomes easier not to act on it immediately, and over weeks that changes how much you actually drink.

Can I drink while taking it?+

Yes. It is not a deterrent and it will not make you sick if you drink, unlike medications such as disulfiram. Several customers describe the opposite of avoidance: they notice each drink more, which is part of why they slow down.

I am physically dependent on alcohol. Can I use this to stop?+

No. Stopping suddenly after long heavy drinking can be dangerous and in some cases life threatening. That is a medical situation that needs a doctor, not a supplement. Kudzu is not a detox aid and will not make withdrawal safe. Please speak to a clinician first. We would rather lose the sale.

Why six capsules? That seems like a lot.+

Because the serving is 3 g of extract, and 3 g of anything does not fit into one or two capsules. Brands offering a one-capsule serving are giving you a fraction of the dose. We would rather be honest about the capsule count than quiet about the milligrams.

How long before I notice anything?+

Most people feel nothing in the first week, and that week is when most people quit. The most commonly reported first change, usually in week two, is a slightly longer gap between the cue and the pour. Some people report nothing at any point, which is why the guarantee works the way it does.

How does the subscription work?+

Subscribe and save takes 20% off and is the option selected by default. Your pack is delivered and billed on the schedule shown next to the subscribe option, starting today, until you cancel. There is no minimum and no cancellation fee, and you can cancel or change the frequency at any time from your account or by emailing us. If you would rather not have a recurring order, choose One-time purchase instead and nothing will ever rebill.

Who should not take this?+

Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. Anyone with a hormone-sensitive condition, because isoflavones are phytoestrogens. Anyone with liver disease. Anyone taking methotrexate, tamoxifen, blood thinners, blood pressure or diabetes medication without asking a doctor first. If you are unsure, ask your doctor rather than guessing.

Is it habit forming?+

Kudzu is not known to be habit forming and there is no withdrawal from stopping it. You can stop whenever you want.

SUPPORT

If you want real treatment options

Evidence-based help for alcohol use exists and works. This is the directory we would point a friend to, and using it alongside a supplement is not a contradiction.

A clinical perspective

Excerpts from statements provided to Velmora. These perspectives are not a clinical trial of this product, and they are cautions rather than endorsements.

I would not use it as a substitute for evidence-based treatment for alcohol-use disorder, withdrawal management or medical care.
Dr. Elena Morris, MD
Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or has a history of hormone-sensitive disease should discuss kudzu with a qualified clinician before using it.
Dr. Maya Ellison, MD
A credible supplement should make it easy to evaluate the ingredient, dose and standardization, and that is the lens I would use when considering Velmora.
